Tiong Bahru, Robertson Quay and the City near Promenade Peak

Tiong Bahru Estate near Promenade Peak

The Tiong Bahru estate, with its curved pre-war flats, is a short walk south of the site: Tiong Bahru Market is about 790 metres away and the brochure gives the estate as about three minutes by car. Around the market, the streets hold independent bakeries, cafes, bookshops and small restaurants, and Tiong Bahru Plaza and the MRT station are about 890 metres away.

Robertson Quay and Clarke Quay from Promenade Peak

Downriver, Robertson Quay begins about 345 metres from the site, the most residential of the three quays, with riverside hotels such as the InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay, about 660 metres away, and a long run of cafes and restaurants on both banks. The brochure gives Robertson Quay as about three minutes by car and Clarke Quay about six.

The City and Marina Bay from Promenade Peak

The financial district is close by road: the brochure gives Raffles Place and the Marina Bay Financial District as about six minutes by car, City Hall about nine and Marina Bay Sands about eight. Across the river, the arts are near too, with the National Gallery Singapore and the Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall each about seven minutes’ drive and the Esplanade about nine. Singapore General Hospital, in Outram, is about 1.4 kilometres from the site.

The View from Promenade Peak

From the upper storeys, the neighbourhood spreads out below. The developer’s view studies from the 60th storey look south-east over the city to Marina Bay Sands, south across Tiong Bahru to Sentosa and the sea, north to Orchard Road and the Botanic Gardens and west to Dempsey Hill.
